Big Tech is draining our water
A single data center can consume up to 5 million gallons of water every day — the same as an entire town. At a time when the climate crisis is driving water insecurity across the country, that is not a trade-off our communities can afford.
That is why last September, I secured an amendment requiring the Department of Energy to study how data centers strain our water supply and what Congress can do about it.
It was a hard-fought win, and it is just a first step. There is much more work ahead, including protecting our public lands from data centers. As I strategize about the legislative work ahead, I wanted to ask you:
Are you concerned about the construction of new data centers near you?
- Yes
- No

District Pulse:
Last week, I asked whether you support a War Powers Resolution to rein in Trump’s military actions in Iran. The results were clear: 76.77% of you support a War Powers Resolution.
Congress has a constitutional responsibility to act. I am working to build a coalition to reassert Congress’s war powers and bring an end to this reckless escalation.
