As a former VA physician...
This week, House Republicans passed what’s called a “continuing resolution” to fund the government through the end of the year. On paper, this should maintain current government funding levels. The reality? It’s a blank check for unelected billionaire Elon Musk and DOGE’s policies that continue targeting Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for devastating cuts.
As if that weren’t bad enough, their partisan funding bill would cut billions from care for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. As a former VA physician, I will never support something so heartless.
I voted NO.
However, this bill is just funding the government through the end of the year. House Republicans are in the process of enacting long-term budget cuts in what’s called the “reconciliation process.”
As this process gets underway, I need to hear from you.
