Freedom means reproductive rights

53 years ago, Roe v. Wade recognized the constitutional right to abortion. I grew up believing my children would inherit a world with bodily autonomy. I was wrong.

Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe, millions have lost access to essential care. Women are suffering, doctors are being criminalized, and healthcare clinicians are no longer receiving the education they need to save lives.

House Democrats must be as organized, persistent and as strategic as our opponents have been to restore women’s fundamental right to bodily autonomy. That’s why I’m working in Congress to get politicians out of your health decisions. As a physician, I helped found the Democratic Doctors Caucus to help do just that. I’ve also introduced legislation to codify Roe into federal law and opposed every anti-abortion bill that has come before me.

I won’t let up now. I'm working to build a stronger, healthier, and more just Oregon.

Thank you for being engaged.

Be well,
