Last week, I brought the Crespo-Gonzalez family home. This Gresham family was detained in an urgent care parking lot in our community, while they were taking their sick seven-year-old to get medical care.

Imprisoning children doesn’t make our country safer.

That’s why, last week, I traveled to Texas to advocate on behalf of the Crespo-Gonzalez family and conduct oversight at the facility where they were being held. While I was blocked from conducting oversight, I was overjoyed to be able to bring the family home.

The fact that this family is home in Gresham is a win for our community. However, too many children and families remain in prisons.

As Congress negotiates Department of Homeland Security funding and how to rein in ICE’s lawlessness, I need to know:

Do you support U.S. tax dollars being used to imprison children and families with no criminal record?
  • Yes
  • No
