October 26, 2026
CASCADE LOCKS, OR – Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03), presented the Port of Cascade Locks with a Congressional Record tribute honoring the Bridge of the Gods’ centennial and the generations who have kept the Gorge connected.
“For a century, the Bridge of the Gods has connected people to jobs, families and the extraordinary beauty of the Gorge,” said Congresswoman Dexter. “This anniversary belongs to the generations who built, maintained and cared for this landmark. I’m proud to recognize their work in the Congressional Record and celebrate the Cascade Locks community that keeps this history alive.”
Opened in 1926, the bridge spans the Columbia River between Oregon and Washington. Owned and operated by the Port of Cascade Locks, this steel-truss cantilever structure has become an important transportation link used by residents, visitors, cyclists, and Pacific Crest Trail hikers.
"For a century, the Bridge of the Gods has connected our Gorge communities and supported the people and businesses that call this place home,” said Jeremiah Blue, Executive Director of the Port of Cascade Locks. “We thank Congresswoman Dexter for her service to Cascade Locks and for honoring the bridge's legacy in the Congressional Record. We’re proud to be stewards of this landmark and committed to preserving it for future generations."
The Congressional Record tribute recognizes the bridge’s lasting contributions to the region and celebrates a century of connection, community and preservation.
