Dexter Appointed to House Natural Resources, House Veterans' Affairs Committees

January 14, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) received her committee assignments for the 119th Congress. House Democratic Leadership appointed Dexter to serve on both the House Natural Resources and House Veterans' Affairs Committees. Congresswoman Dexter, M.D. released the following statement:

“As a physician, my job was to use data and science to care for Oregonians. As a member of the House Natural Resources and Veterans' Affairs Committees, I will do the same. I will follow the data and science to make bold progress on the issues that matter most.

“That means taking immediate action to combat the climate crisis and its impact on public health. That means protecting our public lands and fighting for access to clean air and water. That means giving our veterans the care and respect they have earned.

“Our communities deserve to do more than just get by; they deserve to thrive. I am ready to get to work.”
