Dexter: “Political violence is an attack on our democracy”

Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) released the following statement in response to the political assassination of Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, as well as the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette: 

“I am horrified by the assassination of State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette. Political violence is an attack on our democracy itself. It cannot become part of our culture or our politics. We must stand united in rejecting it.”
