Dexter Statement on Ceasefire

PORTLAND, OR —Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) released the following statement on the ceasefireagreement between Israel and Hamas. 

“I am encouraged by the news of a pause in fighting in Gaza, the release of dozens of hostages, and an influx of desperately needed humanitarian aid. 

“As a mother and physician, I am devastated by the horrific violence of these past fifteen months.   

“We have a long road ahead, but it is imperative we do the work to fulfill the promise of peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians alike."
