Dexter’s Second Telephone Town Hall Draws Over 12,000 Oregonians
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Last night, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) hosted a telephone town hall with more than 12,000 Oregonians. The event is her second telephone town hall and sixth total town hall since being sworn into office in January. In the hour-long event, Dexter answered questions live from Oregonians on a range of topics—including accessing Social Security, cuts to Medicaid, and public education.
"We can't just fight Donald Trump. We need a vision that goes beyond what we're against, that's how we build a movement. We must be for something. We must be for basic human rights, we must look to house and feed every person in our community. I am fighting for communities where working families can thrive. These conversations help me do that because I can hear directly from our community on what it needs to thrive," Dexter said.
