WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) released the following statement after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals granted the federal government’s motion to stay the first Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) blocking the president’s order to deploy federalized Oregon National Guard troops to Portland:

The ruling is the result of immense public pressure and advocacy led by Dexter and an acknowledgment by the judge that there is no legal basis for ICE to detain or deport Jackie, who has a valid visa application pending.
