WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) and Congressman Abraham J. Hamadeh (AZ-08) introduced the Medic Education and Deployment into Civilian (MEDIC) Careers Act to grow the healthcare workforce by making it easier for military-trained healthcare personnel to transfer their skills to civilian careers.

PORTLAND, OR — Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, a pulmonologist and critical care physician, led over 65 Members of Congress in condemning any effort by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to undermine the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, a nonpartisan body responsible for providing evidence-based preventive care recommendations to the nation.

SAN BENITO, TX— Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03), who spent twenty years as a critical care physician and pulmonologist, conducted oversight at the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) facility in San Benito, Texas, where pregnant migrant minors are being detained. During the visit, Rep. Dexter was blocked from speaking with unaccompanied minors who had previously expressed interest in meeting.
