SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — Today, U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) announced that she is escorting the Crespo-Gonzalez family back to Oregon. The family was detained last month while bringing their sick seven-year-old to urgent care and then taken to the nation’s largest family and child detention facility located in Dilley, Texas. Their release came after Dexter traveled to Texas to advocate for the family and conduct oversight at the South Texas Family Residential Center.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Congresswoman Maxine Dexter, M.D. (OR-03) announced that her Focused Assistance and Skills Training for Veterans’ Employment and Transition Success (FAST VETS) Act became law. The FAST VETS Act makes the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Veterans Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program more efficient to better connect disabled veterans with good-paying jobs.
