The family was detained last month while bringing their sick seven-year-old to urgent care and then taken to the nation’s largest family and child detention facility located in Dilley, Texas. Their release came after Dexter traveled to Texas to advocate for the family and conduct oversight at the South Texas Family Residential Center.
